I am a North Norfolk-based artist, and my work is shaped by a lifetime spent in close connection with the sea. For nearly 30 years I have worked as a lifeguard along the North Norfolk coast, and that experience has given me an understanding of the ocean that goes beyond observation — it is something I have lived daily. The tides, the weather, the light and the constant movement of the shoreline all continue to influence the way I see and create.

Alongside my time as a lifeguard, I also worked as a carpenter and board shaper. That hands-on background with materials, structure and form continues to inform my practice today. It has taught me patience, precision and respect for the natural qualities of the materials I work with, all of which are essential to my approach in the studio.

I work primarily with resin to create coastal-inspired artworks that explore the movement, texture, and depth of the sea. Much of my work is inspired by specific places and experiences along the coast, translating memory and environment into layered seascapes that capture both the energy and stillness of the ocean.

Each piece I create is one-of-one, individually handcrafted and never repeated. This process allows me to preserve fleeting coastal moments — the patterns left in sand as the tide retreats, the shifting colours of water under changing light and the hidden structures that exist just beneath the surface.

My work is a reflection of place, experience and time spent by the sea. My intention is to offer others a way of connecting with the North Norfolk coast through each piece I make.
